Little Rapids Unites Brands as Rapids Paper + Packaging

Little Rapids Corporation has announced that Shawano Specialty Papers and Nexxa will now operate under a unified brand, Rapids Paper + Packaging.

The new entity will continue to function as a division of Little Rapids Corporation, a family-owned company with more than a century of experience in specialty paper and flexible packaging. The new brand integrates capabilities across specialty paper manufacturing, flexible packaging, advanced printing, and functional coating technologies into a single platform. By combining substrate development, coating, printing, and converting operations under one identity, Rapids Paper + Packaging aims to provide a more streamlined and coordinated approach to innovation, sustainability, and customer-driven packaging solutions.

This integration enables brands to access materials, formats, and performance solutions from a single partner, simplifying the development of packaging designed to meet evolving market demands. Angie Sheehan, CEO of Little Rapids Corporation, stated that the alignment strengthens the company’s ability to address growing industry challenges, particularly as brands work to reduce plastic usage and meet rising environmental expectations.

The company will continue to advance initiatives related to sustainable fibre sourcing, water stewardship, waste reduction, and coating technologies designed to support recyclability and reduced plastic content. The portfolio also includes Ecova™, a paper-based packaging platform developed to help brands reduce plastic usage while maintaining performance.

With the transition to Rapids Paper + Packaging, the company aims to enhance market visibility and support future growth while maintaining its established operational base and long-standing customer relationships. Operations in Green Bay and Shawano will continue focusing on delivering technical expertise and service capabilities that customers have relied on for decades.
