Tycon Automation, Located in National Capital Region (Noida), is a leading solution provider of the Electrical & Automation domain covering most of the sectors in Electrical Energy, Power, Process Industries, Infrastructure and Building markets. Tycon develop and provide Control and Energy Management solutions that help our customer in managing their process and energy efficiently and easily. Tycon was established in 1996 as a Private Limited company. Over the last 20 years, on its delivery excellence, Tycon has been able to position itself as the preferred solution provider around product basket from best in class manufacturers like ABB, Schneider, Stucke etc.

Paperdesk : What inspired the founding of Tycon Automation, and what specific gaps in industrial automation were you aiming to address with your solutions?

Rohit Tickoo : Tycon Automation was founded to bridge the gap between complex industrial processes and reliable, user-friendly automation solutions. We identified a strong need for accurate, rugged, and cost-effective automation systems tailored to Indian operating conditions. Many industries required dependable local support alongside modern technology. Our focus was to deliver practical automation that improves efficiency, safety, and process control.

PD : How did the founding team’s background and early experiences influence Tycon’s mission and long-term goals?

RT : The founding team’s hands-on experience in process industries shaped Tycon’s problem-solving mindset. Early exposure to real plant challenges highlighted the importance of reliability, service, and customization. This experience guided our mission to deliver solutions that work consistently on the shop floor. Long-term customer partnerships became a core objective.

PD : As the company has grown, how have your core values and motivations evolved while still staying true to the original vision?

RT : While our scale and capabilities have grown, our core values of integrity, technical excellence, and customer focus remain unchanged. Over time, innovation and sustainability have become stronger priorities. We now place greater emphasis on digital readiness and smart automation. However, the original vision of practical, dependable solutions continues to guide us.

PD : Can you describe the range of products Tycon Automation offers such as level sensors, online testing systems, PLC based controllers, and process automation solutions and the industries they primarily serve?

RT : Tycon offers level sensors, online testing and measurement systems, PLC-based controllers, and complete process automation solutions. These are widely used in pulp & paper, water and wastewater treatment, chemicals, power, and allied industries. Our solutions support monitoring, control, and optimization of critical processes. Each product is designed for accuracy and industrial durability.

PD : What are the key technological features and advantages of Tycon’s automation products compared to legacy or conventional systems?

RT : Tycon’s systems are designed for high accuracy, robustness, and ease of integration. Compared to legacy systems, our solutions offer faster response, better diagnostics, and digital connectivity. Modular architecture allows flexible customization. This ensures higher uptime and improved process visibility.

PD : How does Tycon ensure product reliability, accuracy, and robustness for example, through testing protocols, quality certifications, or manufacturing standards?

RT : All products undergo rigorous testing, calibration, and validation before deployment. We follow strict quality-control processes and comply

PD : Are you currently engaged in research to enhance your automation hardware or software for instance to improve precision, data analytics, smart connectivity, or AI-driven controls?

RT : Yes, continuous R&D is a key focus at Tycon. We are working on improving precision, smart connectivity, and data-driven automation. Enhancements in analytics, diagnostics, and remote monitoring are ongoing. These efforts help customers move toward smarter, more efficient operations.

PD : Which market segments (e.g., pulp & paper, water treatment, chemical, power) contribute most to Tycon’s business, and how do their automation needs differ?

RT : Pulp & paper, water treatment, chemicals, and power sectors form the core of our business. Each segment has distinct needs from contamination control in paper mills to compliance monitoring in water treatment. Tycon customizes automation accordingly. This sector-specific approach strengthens solution effectiveness.
