JMC group is promoted by a group of experienced industrialists and Technocrats with a successful track record and reputation for the past 24 years. The company was incorporated as a partnership firm in 2002 to set up a most advanced composite engineering unit complete with sophisticated equipment. With the use of state-of-the-art technology, the manufacturing and fabrication of heavy precision machinery for paper plants gives JMC a competitive edge in the age of globalization.
Paper Desk : What inspired the founding of JMC Paper Tech in 2002? What vision drove the company toward pulp and paper machinery?
Rajni Patel : JMC Paper Tech was founded in 2002 with a very clear belief: India has the capability to become a global leader in the pulp and paper machinery sector. The early 2000s were a period when India was still importing most of the advanced technologies, and very few companies were focusing on complete turnkey solutions.
Coming from a family of industrialists and technocrats, I always had the mindset of building something meaningful and long-term. Our founders believed in engineering excellence, ethical business practices, and delivering value through innovation. This combination of industrial experience and technological understanding shaped JMC’s culture from day one.
PD : How has the founding vision evolved with global expansion?
RP : Over the past two decades, our vision has expanded beyond manufacturing machines. Today, JMC is a global EPC partner, executing turnkey pulp mill and paper mill projects across Africa, Middle East, South Asia, and North America.
The core philosophy remains the same—precision engineering, honest service, and long-term commitment—but our scale, confidence, and technology have reached an international level. With projects in Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Ivory Coast, South Africa, Mexico, Bangladesh, and Canada, JMC has evolved into a recognized international machinery brand.

- An AI innovation by JMC Paper Tech Pvt. Ltd.
- Launched at Paperex 2025
- MILLMIND is JMC’s latest technological breakthrough—an AI-powered digital intelligence platform designed exclusively for the pulp and paper industry. With the rapid modernization of paper mills and increasing demand for higher efficiency, sustainability, and automation, MILLMIND represents a major leap forward in how mills monitor, improve, and manage operations.
PD : What is MILLMIND?
RP : MILLMIND is a next-generation artificial intelligence system built to act as the brain of a paper mill.
- It integrates data from various sections of the mill—stock preparation, headbox, press section, dryer section, steam systems, pulp mill, chemicals, power usage, production and quality parameters—and converts it into real-time insights, recommendations, and predictions.
- It works like having an expert engineer + energy auditor + process analyst + quality manager working 24×7.
PD : Why Did JMC Develop MILLMIND?
RP : The pulp & paper industry is evolving. Mills today face:
- High energy and steam costs
- Variability in waste paper and pulp quality
- Need for precise machine settings
- Lack of skilled manpower
- Frequent breakdowns and production losses
- Increasing demand for digital automation
- After working with mills globally—including in India, Africa, Mexico, Middle East, and Asia—JMC realized that most mills need a simple, powerful, and user-friendly AI assistant to guide operators and management.
- MILLMIND was created to fill this gap.
PD : What Does MILLMIND Actually Do?
RP : 3-1. Real-Time Process Monitoring
- Tracks vibration, temperature, pressures, flows, consistencies
- Monitors headbox performance, moisture profile, steam/condensate
- Reads production, quality, energy, and chemical usage on the go
