Kruger Expects Continued Government Support for Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Operations

Kruger Inc. has expressed confidence that the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is willing to continue working closely with the company to support the long-term operations of Corner Brook Pulp and Paper.

The development comes amid ongoing discussions regarding the extension of the power purchase agreement that supports the mill’s energy requirements. This agreement plays a key role in ensuring stable operations and maintaining production continuity at the facility.

Corner Brook Pulp and Paper remains an important part of the region’s forestry and industrial economy, providing employment and supporting local supply chains. Continued cooperation between the government and Kruger is expected to help maintain operational stability during the transition period.

While no final long-term agreement has been announced yet, both parties are actively engaged in discussions aimed at securing a sustainable future for the mill.
