India-based Jani Sales has commenced operations on its newly installed 80 tonnes-per-day virgin tissue machine supplied by Baosuo, marking a significant expansion in its production capabilities. With this addition, the company’s total annual tissue capacity is set to exceed 80,000 tonnes.
The new line, designated as PM3 (also known as TM3), has a design speed of 1,800 metres per minute. According to the family-owned company, the investment was made in response to the growing demand for high-quality, ultra-soft tissue products across both Indian and overseas markets.
The start-up is planned for May 2026. Once fully operational, PM3 will contribute 80 metric tonnes per day to overall output, strengthening Jani Sales’ existing production capacity of 100 metric tonnes per day on PM1 (MG Machine) and 50 metric tonnes per day on PM2 (Tissue Machine).
Abiali Jani, Managing Director of Jani Sales, explained that the decision to move forward with the high-speed PM3 installation followed the successful commissioning of a 50 metric tonnes-per-day Baosuo line in October 2024.
He noted that India’s tissue market is currently experiencing structural growth, supported by heightened hygiene awareness and rapid expansion in the hospitality (HoReCa) and healthcare sectors. The market, he added, is achieving double-digit growth rates, surpassing global industry averages.
Jani further stated that consumer preferences are shifting toward more refined offerings, with increasing emphasis on softness, premium quality, and sustainability. PM3 has been designed to meet these evolving market expectations.
Strategically, the company continues to focus on expanding its footprint across India while reinforcing its international presence. By integrating Baosuo’s advanced technology, Jani Sales aims to ensure efficient production while maintaining the stringent quality standards required in global export markets.
Established in 1979 as a paper and paperboard trading firm, Jani Sales has grown into a global player with three manufacturing facilities in India. Today, the company supplies its products to more than 10 countries across four continents.
