Andhra Paper Announces Partial Resumption of Manufacturing at Kadiam Unit
Andhra Paper Limited has partially resumed manufacturing operations at its Kadiam unit with effect from July 15, 2026, restoring nearly 70% of the facility’s production capacity. The restart follows a temporary disruption after workmen did not report for duty despite the withdrawal of the lockout and the company’s readiness to recommence operations.
At present, one paper machine with a production capacity of 150 metric tonnes per day has been brought back into operation. The company stated that full restoration of manufacturing activities will depend on improved workforce availability in the coming days.
While permanent employees have resumed their regular shift schedules, attendance among contract workmen engaged through third-party contractors remains significantly below normal levels at approximately 35% of the required workforce. The shortage of contract labour continues to affect supporting operations at the Kadiam facility in East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh.
The disruption stemmed from demands raised by contract workmen regarding the revision of certain contractual terms. Andhra Paper clarified that the incident did not result in any physical damage to its assets, all of which remain adequately insured. The company also confirmed that no quantifiable financial loss or asset damage has been reported in its latest regulatory filing.
