New Paper Packaging Venture Formed by Hotpack and HZ Corporation

Hotpack and HZ Corporation Launch Joint Venture to Expand Sustainable Paper Packaging Solutions

UAE-based packaging leader Hotpack has entered into a joint venture with Malaysia’s HZ Corporation to strengthen the development and adoption of paper-based foodservice packaging solutions. The newly established company, HZP Eco Packaging, is designed to meet the growing global demand for sustainable alternatives to plastic packaging.

The partnership combines Hotpack’s extensive international presence and distribution capabilities with HZ Corporation’s specialized expertise in paper packaging manufacturing. Together, the companies aim to accelerate the transition toward environmentally responsible packaging across multiple industries.

As part of its initial commercialization phase, HZP Eco Packaging will target key customer segments including airlines, coffee chains, catering providers, food delivery platforms, and quick-service restaurant operators. These sectors are increasingly seeking sustainable packaging options as regulatory requirements tighten and consumer awareness of environmental issues continues to grow.

The venture’s first product portfolio will feature a range of paper-based foodservice solutions, including paper cups, folding cartons, paper bags, and other eco-friendly packaging products tailored to the needs of the food and beverage industry.

The joint venture represents a significant step in Hotpack’s broader international growth strategy. According to the company, HZP Eco Packaging will focus on serving high-growth markets across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and North America, where demand for sustainable packaging solutions is expanding rapidly.

Abdul Jebbar, Managing Director and Group CEO of Hotpack, said the collaboration brings together complementary strengths in manufacturing, innovation, and market reach. He noted that combining Hotpack’s global operational scale and distribution network with HZ Corporation’s expertise in paper-based packaging creates a strong platform for delivering high-quality, certified sustainable solutions worldwide. The partnership also aligns with Hotpack’s long-term vision of helping businesses meet evolving sustainability goals through practical and scalable alternatives to plastic packaging.

Founded in Dubai in 1995, Hotpack has grown into a global packaging supplier with operations spanning 30 locations and customers in more than 100 countries. The company has consistently invested in manufacturing capabilities, sustainable packaging technologies, and international expansion initiatives.

Donald Yap, CEO of HZ Corporation, described the joint venture as the result of a shared commitment to making sustainable packaging both technologically advanced and commercially scalable. He emphasized that the combination of HZ Corporation’s manufacturing expertise and strong presence in Southeast Asia with Hotpack’s global distribution network and brand reputation will help accelerate the shift away from plastic packaging across various industries and regions.

HZ Corporation currently serves foodservice businesses throughout Southeast Asia and is also engaged in the development of dry-moulded fibre technology for specialized packaging applications. Through HZP Eco Packaging, both companies aim to play a key role in shaping the future of sustainable foodservice packaging on a global scale.
