Pratt Industries Expands Rockwall Facility with $90 Million Investment
The Rockwall Economic Development Corporation (REDC) has announced a major expansion by Pratt Industries, the world’s largest privately held producer of 100% recycled containerboard and the fifth-largest corrugated packaging manufacturer in the United States.
Pratt Industries first established its advanced corrugating facility in Rockwall Technology Park in 2017, occupying approximately 30 acres. The latest expansion marks a significant milestone for the company’s operations in Texas and underscores its long-term commitment to the Rockwall community.
As part of the project, Pratt will add approximately 346,000 square feet to its existing facility, increasing the total building footprint to nearly 736,000 square feet. The expansion is expected to generate approximately $90 million in capital investment and create 100 new jobs in the region.
According to REDC President Matt Wavering, Pratt Industries’ continued growth in Rockwall reflects the strength of the partnership between the company and the local community. He noted that the investment will not only enhance manufacturing capabilities but also create high-quality employment opportunities while reinforcing Rockwall’s position as a destination for advanced manufacturing.
Pratt Industries Executive Chairman Anthony Pratt emphasized the company’s enthusiasm for expanding its Texas operations. He stated that the enlarged Rockwall facility will introduce advanced technology and greater production capacity, enabling the company to better serve customers while strengthening its existing manufacturing, recycling, and transportation network throughout Texas and the surrounding region.
The investment further highlights Pratt Industries’ commitment to sustainability, recycling initiatives, and the creation of American manufacturing jobs. It also aligns with Rockwall’s broader economic development strategy of attracting businesses that contribute to long-term economic growth and workforce development.
Construction and equipment installation for the expansion will be carried out in phases. Full operational capacity is expected once the new corrugator line and facility upgrades are completed, positioning the Rockwall site as an even more important hub within Pratt Industries’ nationwide operations.
