Allimand and Pakka Join Forces for New Sustainable Paper Machine in Ayodhya

Ayodhya, North India – In a significant move towards sustainable packaging solutions, Allimand and Pakka have announced a collaboration to establish a brand-new paper machine dedicated to producing regenerative flexible packaging papers.

Pakka, a listed entity at the NSE since 2023, specializes in sustainable food packaging solutions made primarily from agri-residues such as bagasse. The company’s Ayodhya site currently houses a pulp plant, three paper machines, and a modern moulded fibre unit producing food serviceware under the Chuk brand, including its popular compostable bagasse food trays.

As part of its ongoing growth strategy, Pakka is now venturing into the promising sector of greaseproof and flexible packaging papers. Following a rigorous selection process, Allimand, the French paper machine builder, was chosen as the partner for this ambitious project.

The new high-tech paper machine, designed with a daily capacity of 115 tons, will feature Allimand’s signature S hydraulic headbox with dilution control, an Inertial Shaking unit, a shoe press with transfer belt, SC Sizer, and soft calenders. This state-of-the-art investment is expected to consolidate Pakka’s position in the specialty papers market while reinforcing Allimand’s strong footprint in India.
