Detpak Opens New Manufacturing Facility in South Carolina to Expand U.S. Packaging Operations
Global packaging manufacturer Detpak has opened a new manufacturing facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina, strengthening its ability to supply locally produced paper-based packaging solutions to major Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) customers across the United States.
The new facility marks a significant milestone in Detpak’s global expansion strategy and reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to the North American market. By establishing local manufacturing operations, Detpak aims to improve supply chain reliability, reduce lead times, and offer greater operational flexibility for its U.S. customers.
Detpak is a packaging partner to some of the world’s leading QSR, foodservice, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), and retail brands, including McDonald’s, KFC, Starbucks, and Wendy’s. The company serves customers in 45 countries and operates manufacturing facilities across eight countries, with more than two decades of experience supplying the U.S. market through its international production network.
Commenting on the expansion, Sascha Detmold Cox, CEO of Detpak, said the opening of the company’s first U.S. manufacturing facility represents a key milestone in its global growth journey.
“As we continue to grow our global footprint, opening our own manufacturing facility in the United States is a key milestone for our business. It allows us to better support our customers with locally manufactured products and reinforces our commitment to the U.S. market, where we have been supplying customers from our international plants for more than 20 years,” she said.
She added that the investment reflects the company’s focus on building long-term customer partnerships while delivering the same levels of service, innovation, and reliability that clients experience across its global operations.
Detmold Cox also highlighted the company’s commitment to the local community, noting that the investment will create new employment opportunities in South Carolina.
The multi-million-dollar manufacturing facility spans 16,300 square metres and will initially employ more than 50 people from the Spartanburg community. The plant is currently undergoing equipment commissioning, with full-scale production scheduled to begin in August.
