Kemira Expands North American Water Treatment Business with Clear Water Technologies Acquisition
Kemira has completed the acquisition of the business and related assets of Clear Water Technologies, LLC, a California-based provider of industrial water treatment services. The move strengthens Kemira’s presence in North America and supports its strategy to expand in the rapidly growing industrial water treatment services market.
The acquisition includes Clear Water Technologies’ service operations, customer relationships, and associated assets. The company specializes in boiler and cooling tower water treatment services for light industrial customers across California. In 2025, the business generated revenue of just over USD 3 million and employs 12 people. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
According to Tuija Pohjolainen-Hiltunen, Executive Vice President of Kemira’s Water Solutions segment, the acquisition will enhance the company’s ability to provide integrated solutions by combining Clear Water Technologies’ service expertise with Kemira’s chemical treatment capabilities.
She noted that the acquisition marks Kemira’s second purchase in the industrial water treatment services sector following its acquisition of Water Engineering, Inc., which established a strong platform for both organic and acquisition-driven growth in North America.
The acquired operations will be integrated into Kemira’s Water Solutions business unit, with activities continuing from the company’s existing California location.
