PD : What core values laid out at the start continue to guide V.G. Impex especially regarding sustainability, ethics, and transparency?
RKB : From the beginning, trust, transparency, and ethical business practices have guided V.G. Impex. We continue to prioritize sustainable sourcing and maintain clear, honest relationships with both clients and manufacturers.
PD : Could you describe the full range of materials V.G. Impex supplies, and how you decide which materials to source for Indian clients?
RKB : V.G. Impex supplies a range of materials including paper, metal, and plastics. We decide what to source based on client requirements, industry demand, and by partnering with trusted manufacturers to ensure quality and timely delivery.
PD : How does V.G. Impex ensure quality and suitability of recycled materials supplied to paper mills what vetting or quality control processes are in place for suppliers abroad?
RKB : Though we don’t manufacture, V.G. Impex carefully vets all our suppliers abroad, ensuring they meet international quality standards. We verify material quality, compliance, and reliability before supplying recycled materials to our clients.
PD : Are there any internal evaluation or testing protocols before dispatching waste-paper or plastics to mills?
RKB : Yes, we carry out internal checks based on client specifications and supplier documentation. While testing is done at the supplier’s end, we ensure all material meets agreed standards before dispatching it to mills.
PD : How do you decide when to supply “stock lot” or surplus materials versus “prime/recycledwaste” is this based on client cost sensitivity, mill specs, or availability?
RKB : We supply stock lot, surplus, or prime/recycled waste based on the mill’s specifications, budget, and current market availability. Our priority is matching the right material to the client’s technical and cost requirements.
PD : Which segments (paper mills, packaging units, plastic recyclers, metal-using industries) form the core of V.G. Impex’s customer base in India?
RKB : Our core customer base includes paper mills, packaging units, plastic recyclers, and metal-using industries. These sectors rely on us for consistent sourcing and timely supply of quality materials.
PD : How has demand changed over the years for recycled materials versus virgin materials, and has this influenced V.G. Impex’s sourcing strategy?
RKB : Demand for recycled materials has increased significantly as industries shift toward cost efficiency and sustainability. This trend has influenced our sourcing strategy, with a stronger focus on reliable recycled material suppliers while still supporting clients who require virgin grades.
PD : What criteria do you follow when selecting overseas suppliers or partners is it cost, material quality, sustainability credentials, or reliability of supply?
