Paperdesk : 1.Since the establishment of Minipack in 1969, what key inspirations and market needs motivated the company to specialize in shrink and stretch wrapping machinery in India?
HPK : In 1969 the domestic market was not aware of the concept of Shrink Wrapping.
We ventured into this virgin market and developed the first indigenous L Sealer Shrink Tunnel, thus hoping to make business sense.
PD : What were the early challenges faced while building a packaging machinery manufacturing business in India, and how did the company overcome them?
HPK : Having already ventured into unknown territory & manufactured the 1st prototype machine, correct specification of shrink film was also the need of the hour for satisfactory machine performance.
Hence our unit was also used as a sort of laboratory by film extrusion & raw material manufactures to arrive at the right quality film specially with respect to the most important shrinkage ratio criteria
This was an uphill task, with years of efforts, to achieve satisfactory results.
PD : How did the company’s early focus on research and technical expertise influence the development of innovative packaging machinery solutions?
HPK : As mentioned, the difficult task was to get domestically available LDPE shrink film locally for use with our Entry Level & Semi Automatic machines. This contributed towards developing the foundation of the Shrink Wrapping industry on the whole, thus setting the platform for others to follow.

HPK : Being A Parsi owned / run company, from Day 1 our primary & sole focus was total client satisfaction.
Besides being India’s first ISO certified company in Shrink / Stretch Wrap machinery manufacturer, we pride in manufacturing heavy duty machines built to last a 15 to 20 years never compromising on quality bought out components
Also few of our regular machines are CE certified as per European standards

HPK : We thrive to incorporate latest and updated available software / hardware, achieving higher production outputs / customisation of line automation etc.
PD : With the growing demand for automated packaging, how is Minipack adapting its product portfolio to meet changing market needs in India and globally?
HPK : With faster product line speeds and more design oriented primary packs, we incorporate latest technology for faster automated collating systems attempting a bit with AI which is the need of the hour.
PD : How does market feedback influence the company’s research initiatives for developing next-generation packaging technologies?
HPK : We always take Industry feedback very seriously & from our clients seek continuous inputs from their shop floor give us first hand information to strive for continuous perfection.
PD : Having supplied thousands of machines globally, what key business strategies have helped Minipack maintain a strong presence in the packaging machinery market?
HPK : From the very beginning we have specialised in providing solutions & manufacturing machines to fit within the limited spaces available in most factories.
However integrity & commitment to supply schedule still remain one the most valuable aspects.

HPK : Over the years we have developed a stellar supplier chain system which helps us manufacture cost effective systems to a wide range of industry.
PD : In what ways does your research team collaborate with production and engineering departments to improve machine performance and reliability?
HPK : Marketing team conveys client’s detailed requirements jointly to the RND & production departments AutoCAD drawing is forwarded to the client. If the same is approved & order materialises, then, the same is passed on to the shop floor & supply chain for further process
PD : How have recent technological advancements in automation and packaging machinery transformed the Indian packaging industry?
HPK : Today India machines are accepted globally, this itself speaks volumes of the quality of the systems & progress made
PD : With the rapid growth of FMCG, e-commerce, and food industries, how do you see the future demand for packaging machinery evolving in India?
HPK : Both FMCG & E Commerce requires products to be transport worthy & hence our machinery continue to be in sync with this requirement
PD : Are there ongoing research efforts to develop energy-efficient or environmentally friendly packaging technologies to reduce industrial waste?
NA : As done in the early 70’s, we are once again actively working with film manufactures in conducting elaborate trials of recyclable & bio degradable material. The process though slow, is quite encouraging
PD : Minipack has received several awards from industry organizations; how have these recognitions influenced the company’s growth and reputation?
HPK : It’s always a feel good factor when either an individual or organization receives any award. It also installs an extra degree of confidence in our customers highlighting our expertise / experience in our manufacturing capabilities for equipment pertaining to a particular sector.
The Awards continue to motivate both the Sales & Production teams to work in cohesion.
PD : The company frequently participates in industry exhibitions such as PackMach Asia Expo; how do such events help showcase new technologies and strengthen industry partnerships?
HPK : Though E Commerce is getting promoted strongly, Exhibition participation remains a major & primary marketing tool.
