Packaging concept 60° with high-quality papers from Koehler Paper

The KURZ Group, a global leader in thin-film technology, developed the packaging concept “60° – creative boxes to inspire” for last year’s LUXE PACK trade fair in Monaco.

It featured four high-quality cardboard boxes with a sophisticated plug-in system that eliminates the need for adhesive joints. LEONHARD KURZ, the surface finishing specialist from Fürth, used high-quality paper from Koehler Paper for these editions.

The KURZ Group is a global leader in thin-film technology. KURZ develops and produces decorative and functional layers applied to carrier films for a wide variety of industries. The company offers a comprehensive product range for surface finishing, decoration, labeling, and anti-counterfeiting, as well as an extensive program of embossing machines and tools.

The award-winning packaging concept was released last year under the name “60°” and for the first time in a triangular shape, the bases of which are each at a 60-degree angle to each other. The new creative boxes are attracting international attention. The concept comprises two tools: the 60° – creative boxes to inspire, and the “View what’s next” slipcase with four accordion-style fold-outs. A packaging series that translates current design trends and socio-cultural developments into packaging designs and finishing effects. Each package represents a trend theme.

Current trends and innovative packaging design with high-quality papers from Koehler Paper.

For the current issue, the “60°” concept uses high-quality papers from Koehler Paper. The boxes were made from premium recycled Koehler Eco® Paper and Koehler ICEWHITE IQ ® digital printing paper. The four leporellos were printed on Koehler ICEWHITE IQ ® digital printing paper. The sometimes complex embossing was created using tools and technology from Hinderer + Mühlich (H+M) – a KURZ subsidiary. The Fürth-based finishing specialist once again demonstrated how state-of-the-art finishing technologies can be combined with pioneering design and current trends to create fascinating compositions.

Koehler Paper’s range includes a wide variety of papers suitable for a variety of applications.

Awarded the “Blue Angel” environmental label and the EU Ecolabel, Koehler Eco® papers are suitable for a wide variety of applications. These recycled papers have increased lightfastness and are resistant to bleeding and color migration. Their increased abrasion resistance ensures that they retain a high-quality impression even after years of use – perfect for packaging valuable products or long-lasting prints. Koehler ICEWHITE IQ® digital printing paper was specially developed for digital printing. This quality is particularly suitable for high-quality prints with brilliant colors, sharp images, and brilliant print results.
